WIC OUTREACH MATERIALS
In an effort to connect more eligible families to WIC, the Illinois Commission to End Hunger has developed awareness and outreach materials available for anyone to use.
Despite its many benefits to children, WIC is underutilized in Illinois. The ICTEH developed outreach materials that can be used by anyone to raise awareness of WIC. These materials were designed with input from Illinois WIC families and WIC agencies to overcome specific participation barriers they identified.
Key features of materials include: print and digital options, images that emphasize different family types, and messaging that emphasizes the value and flexibility of WIC. Materials are available in multiple languages, with both print and digital options that can be used on social media, in newsletters, on websites, or in offices.

SOCIAL MEDIA TILES AND CAPTIONS
Social media tiles and captions that include: images of paternal caretakers, grandparents, and children of different ages to emphasize that WIC serves children up to their 5th birthday. Accompanying captions topics include pregnancy, breastfeeding, picky eating, healthy choices, dads, grandparents, foster parents, cognitive development, physical development, program flexibility, program choice, meal planning, health referrals, and economic hardship.
NEWSLETTER CONTENT

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Updated awareness posters and flyers promote eligibility and emphasize that WIC serves children until their 5th birthday. Available in English and Spanish.
